Put US defeat behind - FA Boss urges players

FA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, Monday night told the Black Stars players to put the defeat by the US behind them and prepare to win the remaining matches in the group.

"Do not give up. Know that we have two more matches to play and only hard work and determination can see us through this," he charged the team and urged them to continue to play their best in the remaining matches of the group.

He charged the team in the dressing room before their departure to their hotel.

With most of the players feeling downcast and very much disappointed by the result only such words of encouragement as those from the FA boss could be appropriate.

He told them it was not over yet and that some little effort and, perhaps, some luck in the subsequent games could change their fortunes positively at this world cup.

It was the view of the FA President that the Stars dominated the game yet they were unable to outscore the Yankees.
