President Nana Addo visits Chicago.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, his Excellency, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, is scheduled to meet with Ghanaians in Chicago and its environs today , March 31 2019 at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel, 163 E Walton Place, 14th Floor, Tower West, Chicago IL 60611.

The Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago are the organizers. The president is expected to address and take questions from the audience.The late announcement is the result of an earlier denial of morning landing of the President’s aircraft in Chicago on Sunday March 31 2019. Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, Dr. Barfuor Adjei-Barwuah, is expected to accompany the president to Chicago.

After the townhall meeting, the president will attend a private dinner reception organized in his honor by the Tayui family.

Earlier on Friday March 29 2019 the President was at Harvard University. Under the auspices of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics and Harvard University’s Centre for African Studies, he delivered a public address on the theme, “Empowering the Youth, Africa’s golden future”.

On Monday April 1 2019, President Akuffo Addo will give a public lecture at the University of Chicago. The event will take place at the International House, 1414 E , 59th Street, Chicago IL 60637 from 12 pm to 1 pm local time. The organizers are the University of Chicago Institute of Politics. He will discuss his fifty years of public service, his vision for the future of Ghana, and the relationship between Ghana and the United States. After formal remarks, he will answer audience questions. Lunch will be provided.

The event is free and open to University of Chicago students, faculty, staff and the public. Due to the expected large attendance, the organizers are asking that if you cannot attend, please cancel your ticket order on Eventbrite so others may register. Registration is required. Tickets are general admission and registration does not guarantee a seat or transferable. Doors will open 30 minutes before the event begins. Any unclaimed seats will be released 10 minutes before the event begins.

The President is expected to make a major announcement during his visit to Chicago.
