Ghana's home-based stars received a sorry $300 each as per diem during an international friendly against Namibia, while $24,600 remain unaccounted for, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.

The 18 players took home $5,400 in total while the chunk of the cash remains unclear.

The country's Ministry of Youth and Sports have been forced to issue a statement detailing how much was paid to the national team after consistent criticism for lack of accountability.

However, the release has left many begging questions after it emerged the country took a pittance of $30,000 to play in the 'Dr Hage Geingob Cup 2018' in Windoek, Namibia last Saturday.

The host provided return tickets for the team, accommodation, local transport, meals and refreshment.

However, the statement from the Ghanaian authorities was loudly silent on how the $30,000 appearance fee was disbursed.

But GHANAsoccernet.com can report that each player received $300 while there is no clarity on how much the remaining $24,600 was disbursed.

On Saturday, the Black Stars B engaged the Brave Warriors of Namibia in a friendly encounter in honour of Namibia’s President, Hage Gottfried Geingob.

The local-based Stars however lost the match 4-1 on penalties after playing out 1-1 stalemate in regulation time.
