Mpohor DCE sabotaging government distribution of Veronica buckets

As part of its passionate commitment towards combating and eventually eradicating the deadly COVID-19 from the shores of Ghana, the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), under the auspices of His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, donated for distribution thousands of Veronica buckets and variety of such items as facial masks, cartons of soap and tissues, plastic buckets and hand sanitizers to the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) across the country.

These items are supposed to help various health and market centres, as well as public places within communities in each of these MMDAs.

Refreshing and reassuring as this move by Government is, the case in the Mpohor District in the Western Region has been clearly twisted distribution agenda, alarming in the sense that the DCE, Hon. Ignatius Asaah Mensah, has begun distributing the items in the company of the wife of the MP for the area, Hon. Alex Agyekum, deceiving the people that the items were an exclusive gift donation from the outfit of the MP.

We find this development as not only unfortunate, but sheer dishonesty, an attempt aimed at sabotaging efforts of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led government to combat the deadly pandemic.

We are dismayed that the DCE has lately been seen shirking his responsibilities, and instead, actively campaigning for the MP of Mpohor's third term parliamentary bid. He is said to be using state resources, vehicles and funds to assist the MP'd parliamentary primaries campaign.

There are actually audios and pictorial evidence to back all these happenings in the Mpohor district.

We are therefore appealing to His Excellency, the President, Chief of Staff, the Hon. Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, the Western Regional Minister, to call the Hon. DCE of Mpohor to order, and to insist on him refraining from these acts that are clearly sabotaging Government initiatives.

The DCE should be reminded to redirect his focus on developing the underdeveloped Mpohor District.

Long Live MPOHOR District!
Long Live GHANA!!
