Midtjilland fans injured

TWENTY-FIVE supporters of Midtjilland FC sustained various degree of injuries when the three buses on which they were travelling were involved in an accident on the Akuapem Ridge last Sunday.

The fans were on their way to watch the Division One League match between Midtjilland and Real Sportive at the Koforidua Park.

Narrating the incident to the Graphic yesterday, the Chairman of Midtjilland, Alhaji Bimbo, disclosed that five of the victims ? two at the Koforidua Hospital and three at the Tetteh Quarshie Hospital at Mampong -are in very critital conditions.

He, however, indicated that the remaining 20 are responding to treatment at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.

According to the chairman, the three buses, a Nissan Urvan, a 33-seater Mercedes Benz and 207 Mercedes Benz buses ? all veered off the road, with the latter, which suffered the most damage, ending up in a valley.

He revealed that on reaching the scene of the accident, the players of Midtjilland were upset and some wept. Alhaji Bimbo admitted that the sight of the accident adversely affected the performance of the players during the match culminating in the 1-1 drawn result.
