Kwesi Appiah only local coach qualified for Black Stars job; others not good enough - Oduro Sarfo

General Manager for Berekum Chelsea, Oduro Sarfo claims no local coach can handle the Black Stars and wants the Ghana FA to appoint a foreigner should they decide to axe James Kwesi Appiah.

The Black Stars endured a dismal run at the African Cup of nations losing on penalties 5-4 to the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.

Since then, the position of current gaffer, Kwasi Appiah has come under a lot of scrutinies with many Ghanaians calling for his head as they believe he lacks the needed tactical acumen to steer the affairs of the team.

According to him, there is no Ghanaian coach who can handle the Black Stars except for Kwesi Appiah since he has been given the opportunity and that has rich experience though he is yet to live up to expectations.

“Apart from Kwesi Appiah, I don’t see any local coach who can manage players and stand up on the authority to demand what is due” he told Angel FM.

“So the issue of using local coaches to lead the Black Stars is a thing of the past. After Kwesi Appiah, we need to go in for a foreign coach” he added.

He has therefore advised authorities of the Ghana Football Association to go in for a Serbian coach as he believes they are not too demanding.

Oduro Sarfo added that, it would have been prudent to hire expatriate coaches for all our national teams if the country is financially strong.
