Invest bonuses in the future of players - Sports Minister tells parents

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Pious Enam Hadzie, has advised the parents and guardians of players in the Black Starlets to invest winning bonuses earned by their wards in their future.

There are fears the youngsters of the national under 17 side, which won silver at the just ended Africa U17 champions, could lose focus on their education with their new found fame and wealth from bonuses to be paid by government.

Mr Hadzie is urging the parents to be resolute in their resolve to ensure the minors get the best education to augment their football talent.

He said the bonuses (amount yet to be disclosed) which would be paid into a dedicated account should be used to invest heavily in the future of these boys.

The Black Starlets lost to Mali 1-0 in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations but have qualified for the World Cup to be staged in India later this year.
