Fortuna Düsseldorf have been dealt a blow ahead of their Bundesliga derby game against FC Köln on Sunday with Ghanaian striker Bernard Tekpetey not fit to play.

Tekpetey missed his side's goalless draw match against SC Paderborn due to injury last return following a two-month break due to the coronavirus crisis.

However, he resumed training earlier this week and was hopeful he will be fully recovered in order to be available for the derby at the RheinEnergieStadion.

But head coach Uwe Rösler confirmed at a media conference on Friday that the attacker is not fit to play.

"Dawid Kownacki could be for the first time since his injury are back in the squad, but with Bernard I'm not sure," said Rösler.

His compatriots Nana Opoku Ampomah, Kelvin Ofori, and Kasim Nuhu are expected to make the match-day squad.

The 22-year-old joined Düsseldorf on loan from Schalke 04 and has made only nine appearances in the German Bundesliga before it was suspended.
