Gladson Awako heads to Kotoko

Former Heart of Lions and TP Mazembe midfielder, Gladson Awako, is rumoured to be subject of interest from Asante Kotoko and sources say he could be close to joining the Porcupine Warriors.

Awako is a free agent after his contract with TP Mazembe expired at the end of the season.

He joined the former CAF Champions League winners in 2012 after a successful period with Kpando Heart of Lions. He also featured for Ghana’s U-20 national team in 2009 in the African U-20 Championships.

Apart from TP Mazembe, Awako played for Don Bosco in DR Congo on loan.
He has confirmed that some discussions have gone on with the club but no major developments have occurred as of now.

“I have spoken to a few people at Kotoko but we have not finalised anything yet.

Kotoko is one of the big clubs in Ghana and Africa so I will welcome the chance to feature for them and for any other team in Ghana,” he said to Asempa FM in an interview.

Kotoko are currently preparing to play their outstanding Ghana Premier League with WAFA.
