Ghana coach Avram Grant has named a 23-man strong team to face Rwanda in the last Group H fixture of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers set for the Accra Sports Stadium on September 3.

The Black Stars have booked their place in the tournament after picking 13 points from five games, seven above their visitors and other group member Mauritius.

Fit-again captain Asamoah Gyan has been handed his first call-up in almost eight months. The 30-year-old is chasing his 50th international goal after netting 48 times in 95 appearances.

West Ham United record signing Andre Ayew will miss the encounter after sustaining a thigh injury against Chelsea on Monday. Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah is also ruled out.

However, goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey, who recently joined Norwegian side Rosenborg, has made a return to the squad, replacing Ashanti Gold’s Fatau Dauda while Samuel Tetteh maintains his spot following his two goals in three games with Austrian second-tier side Leifering after leaving the local scene in July.

Locals, Kadri Mohammed and Wa All Stars' in-form goalkeeper Richard Ofori, kept their places in the squad alongside Atletico Madrid youngster Thomas Teye Partey.
