GNPC is not responsible to pay Kwasi Appiah's salary arrears - Dr Kwame Baah-Nuakoh

Head of Sustainability at Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Dr. Kwame Baah Nuakoh says his outfit is not responsible to pay the five months arrears of James Kwasi Appiah.

Appiah, who was on a $35,000 a month salary was shown the exit by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on December 31.

The former Al Khartoum manager has threatened to drag the GFA to FIFA should fail to meet his deadline.

The 60-year-old has served the FA with a third letter.

However, according to the GFA Club Licensing Board Chairman, GNPC deals with sustainability in Sports development, and as part of the requirements supports the Ministry of Youth and Sports and is not responsible for payment of the Black Stars coach.

“GNPC doesn’t have a commitment with Kwasi Appiah neither do we have same with the GFA.

"We don’t have any contract with Kwesi Appiah neither do we have any contract with the Ghana FA," he added.

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation has come into public discussion on their refusal to pay the 5 months arrears of James Kwasi Appiah who left the Black Stars job in December.
