Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong has predicted Black Stars to go through the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation group stage ‘without a problem’, but cautioned against complacency.

Ghana have been pooled in Group F alongside defending champions Cameroon, Benin and Guinea Bissau.

Kwesi Appiah’s men will be looking to end Ghana’s 37-year wait for an AFCON title after three missed chances in 1992, 2010 and 2015.

Ghana will open their campaign against Benin on June 25, four days before facing Cameroon, whom they lost to in the semi-final of the last championship.

The Black Stars’ last game will be against Guinea-Bissau on July 2.

“Looking at the teams in our group, there is no doubt that we can progress to the next stage. But we should be cautious not to look down upon any team. The players in the other teams would also want to make a name for themselves, especially when they meet the so-called giants in Africa football.” Frimpong told the Daily Graphic.
