Ghana international Christian Atsu could be joined by Richmond Boakye-Yiadom at Newcastle United, if reports in the English media are to be believed.

According to the respected news outlet ESPN, Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion are considering moving for Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, who has been in impeccable form for the Serbian side.

Both Newcastle and West Brom are in the market for striking reinforcements as they look to move away from the Premier League relegation zone.

Newcastle have scored just 16 goals in their 16 league games so far, with the Baggies managing only 12.

Boakye has impressed for Red Star this season, with the Ghana international scoring 14 goals in 13 league games.

Last month, Chelsea were reported to be interested in the 24-year-old, who is under contract at Red Star until 2020.

Boakye’s management team has been emphatic that a move to mainstream Europe is imminent, but what is not known is whether the striker will move in the January transfer window or he will wait until the end of the season and move during next year’s summer transfer window.
