GAA Circuit: Disappointed Malik Yakubu reveals injury after losing 10,000m race

Defending Champion Malik Yakubu revealed he was habouring an injury after losing his title in the 10,000m race at the ongoing Ghana Athletics Association Circuit Championship in Sekondi.

18 year old Kwame Adjei beat the favourite Yakubu to first place, crossing the finish line in 31minutes:46.19 while Malik Yakubu finished in second place in 31minutes: 46.30.

After the race, a disappointed Malik blamed his fitness problems for the loss but vowed to reclaim his title soon.

" I've been carrying an injury for a long time. I don't really have a doctor to treat it so I was running half for. But I plan to win my crown back."

The Circuit Championship, the first in 2018, which appears like Ghana's version of the Diamond League is aimed at identifying athletes and preparing them for the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
