FA Cup final hat-trick was on my mind - Saddick Adams

Kotoko forward Saddick Adams says that he had intentions of getting a hat-trick in the final of the 2017 MTN FA Cup which was played on Sunday at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

The former Berekum Chelsea player found the net in the 1st, 30th and 40th minutes to push Kotoko to their first FA Cup title since 2014.

Adams said in an interview on GH One Television on Monday that scoring in the final was on his mind and he wanted to follow through on the thought of finding the net.

“Before the season ended, I told some of the colleagues that I wanted to score a hat-trick in the final. One player, Ameyaw Collins, and I had a chat and he told me that he wanted me to score four times before the end of the season.

I got one against Berekum Chelsea and he told me to get the other three.
In Tamale, I kept thinking about it and I tried so hard to get the goals and I thank God that I was able to do it.”

Adams went on to choose which of the goals was his favourite.
“The third goal was my favourite of the three.”

The goal was scored when Adams rounded Hearts goalie, Ben Mensah, to finish in an empty net after Hearts defender Vincent Atingah mistimed a header and sent it into Adams’ path.
