Former Asante Kotoko player Yusif Chibsah says he is disappointed by the boycott of captains of clubs to a meeting with the Ghana Football Association Normalisation Committee.

The officer in charge of Player Relations at the Professional Football Association of Ghana (PFAG), Chibsah believes a meeting with the Normalisation Committee would have helped address some of the challenges local players face.

“I’m disappointed the others didn’t turn up” Yussif Chibsah told Asempa FM.

“We discussed salaries, we discussed standard contracts” and issues that border on player welfare, said Chibsah as he opened up on what transpired. "

“Players sign contracts but they don’t receive copies of their contracts. In some cases, details of contracts the players have, differ from what is at the clubs’ secretariats. Players will sign two-year contracts but clubs’ copies of contracts will have either three or four years” the PFAG officer said.

“We suggested standard contracts; to be [published] on the FA website so that we will all use. The difference will be the details of the contracts. The players will have copies of the contracts and we will also have copies. It’s not a bad idea if the PFAG have contracts of players” he argued.

Only seven out of sixteen captains reported to the meeting with the Normalisation Committee.
