Some persons who had their structures demolished at Dzorwulu Friday dawn have expressed disappointment in the Akufo-Addo-led administration for what they label as a ‘savage’ act against them.

According to them, government could have appointed people to pre-inform them before embarking on this rambo-style of demolition exercise.

The squatters have made known their readiness to revenge on government by boycotting the upcoming general elections on December 7, 2020.

One of them in an interview with GhanaWeb shared her ordeal saying, “I sell sachet water, now that you have dislocated us where do we go?...left to me alone, we should boycott the elections because it makes no sense.”

Feeling rejected by government, they indicated that they are ready to ‘fight’ any authority who comes to their premises to solicit for votes in the upcoming December polls.

Another person explained the reason for their decision saying, "we are also Ghanaians, this is our motherland".

On Friday, March 13, 2020, there was a police, military swoop behind the Fiesta Royal hotel in Accra to dislocate squatters who have put up illegal structures as their abode.

Some were fortunate to get their belongings out of the place before the demolition exercise took place, however, those who got the information late had their items destroyed.
