Duncan suspects foul play in Otumfuo Cup defeat

Asante Kotoko head coach David Duncan has revealed that he suspects a foul play in their loss to AshantiGold in the Otumfuo Cup played last month.

The Ghana league champions climaxed their season with a 3-1 win over the Porcupine Warriors at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to run away with the coveted Otumfuo Cup.

The head coach of reds has revealed in an interview with GHANAsoccernet.com that the way the goals were scored raises doubts making it difficult for him to accept that they are genuine goals.

“It is the match that I must confess I still do not understand. It was one of my most painful defeats. The way and manner the goals came make me suspect a foul play,” Duncan told GHANAsoccernet.com

“I am not by this saying my opponent was not a worthy winner. All I am saying is that the goals scored raises a lot of questions and that hurt sometimes,” he added.

Asante Kotoko lost the trophy to their regional rivals in what appears the wo4se season for the club after losing out of all six competitions the club was eyeing.
