Commissioning of ambulances: Akufo-Addo now celebrating mediocrity - A Plus

A Plus A Plus

Ahead of the commissioning and distribution of some 307 ambulances by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo today in fulfilment of his promise prior to the 2016 elections, some critics of the government have been sharing their views on the matter, notably singer Kwame Asare Obeng, known widely as A Plus, who thinks that the act will be an exercise in mediocrity.

In his opinion mediocre acts like that should be reserved for the National Democratic Congress ( NDC) and others, insisting that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is held to a higher standard than the rest of the political parties.

“You have procured ambulances so we should organize supporters to come to the independence square to clap for you. Allow another party to engage in this celebration of mediocrity not NPP and Nana. The money that will be spent on this nonsense can build a clinic for a community.

HE Nana Addo does not understand that we trust him so much that the marking scheme we are using for him is totally different from what has been used for all other “incompetent” presidents. Unfortunately, he is increasingly becoming another ordinary Ghana president,” he said.

In spite of criticism by a considerable number of Ghanaians against commissioning and distributing the ambulances, the government stuck to its plan and will do so tomorrow.

Government had explained that to avoid accusations of bias and favouritism, it was going to commission and distribute the ambulances at a go.

After an initial postponement, the event will take place today January 28, 2020, in Accra.
