Cat meat and beer shortage hits Volta Region following Isaac Dogboe’s win

Information available to YEN.com.gh shows that there is a shortage of cat meat and alcoholic beverages in the Volta region.

According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, this resulted from the victory Ghanaian boxer Isaac Dogboe secured over American boxer, Jessie Magdaleno.

Some major pubs in the region have reportedly run out of stock with respect to alcoholic beverages, as the whole region came together to celebrate the victory.

Town such as Ho, Hohoe and Aflao, YEN.com.gh understands were hardest hit and the celebrations went on deep into the night.

The New York City Bar and grill, where cat light soup is served on request had more demands than they could handle; adjoining restaurants had also run out of stock.

At Kiki’s court in Hohoe, all spaces were filled while the bars at the center of town partied late into the night.

Others chose to show a replay of the Isaac Dogboe-Jessie Magdaleno fight on TV Africa on screens for patrons of the bars.

Isaac Dogboe, at age 23, became the youngest Ghanaian world champion, when he beat American Jessie Magdaleno to win the WBO World Super Bantamweight Title.

The bout took place at the Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University in Philadelphia, USA, in the early hours of Sunday, April 29, 2018.
