A former deputy Minister of Communication Felix Ofosu-Kwakye has described as empty president Akufo-Addo’s performance after six-month of being in charge of governance.

“There is nothing significant about his government,” he told Neat FM Tuesday July 18, 2017 ahead of the president’s encounter with the media.

He added: “He [President Nana Addo] made some specific promises and nothing has been done to fulfill those promises. So what is he coming to tell the press?” Akufo-Addo will engage the media Tuesday to render accounts of his six-month stewardship. The encounter with the media will take place at the Flagstaff House in Accra and it is expected to take stock of his administration’s achievements and failures.

Several issues including the operations of NPP vigilante group Delta Forces, the retrieval of government vehicles, the setting up of the Special Prosecutor and the commencement of Free SHS and the I district, 1 factory project are likely to come up during the encounter.

The fight against galamsey will also feature on the President’s encounter with the media.

The President last week stated that he is ready to put his presidency on the line to ensure that the fight against illegal mining is won.

This is the first time the Akufo-Addo-led administration is engaging the media since they defeated the John Mahama administration in last year’s elections.
