The opposition National Democratic Congress has served notice that it will petition the United Nations(UN) on Tuesday, February 18th, 2020 to revoke President Akufo Addo’s appointment as the Co-Chair of the SDGs Advocates.

According to the NDC, President Akufo Addo’s corrupt government has become an active enabler and promoter of galamsey and the destruction of the environment in a way that affronts the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN.

Speaking at a press conference at the banks of the brownish River Prah in the Central Region, described President Akufo-Addo as a bad example not worthy of emulation.

“He has proven to be unfit for the prestigious position of Co-Chair of the UN SDGs advocates for which reason he must be removed without delay. We will not call on him to resign because we know that as for President Akufo-Addo the word resignation doesn’t exist in his dictionary so we know that he would want to hold on to that position. We are convinced beyond a shudder of doubt that the UN will act in the interest of the Ghanaian people and international community and the environment.”
