CHAN Qualifier: Burkina Faso vs Black Stars B

Herculean task awaits the Black Stars B when they take on the Stallions in Ouagadougou on Sunday, October 20 after losing 1-0 in the first leg.

The 2020 CHAN in Cameroon will be the sixth Edition but the last time Ghana participated was in 2014. Maxwell Konadu’s team will take positives from their 5-4 penalty shootout win against the same opponent in the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations quarter-finals.

Burkina Faso qualified to the previous CHAN tournament after a 4-3 aggregate win over Black Stars. Drawing 2-2 in Ouagadougou and winning 2-1 in Ghana.

The Stallions will take inspiration from the fact that they have at least scored a goal in the last four meetings with Ghana. Even though they lost in the quarter-final of the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations, Burkina Faso made a number of changes to the first team that defeated the Black Stars B at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last month.

Having been in camp after failing to defend the WAFU cup, Ghana will certainly be ready for a difficult match in Ouagadougou.

The two Coaches

Seydou Zerbo was appointed in April 2018 after being promoted from the youth set-up and has worked with several members of the current local Stallions.
Krol (nicknamed), will be urging his troops to nail it at home against their neighbours in Ouagadougou.

Maxwell Konadu will be looking for revenge after the Black Stars B failed to qualify for the last edition of the CHAN tournament through the same opponent.

The Black Stars Captain won the Golden Boot award after scoring four goals in the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations tournament in Senegal. The Ashantigold Forward once again was on the record books in Senegal after being the first player to score a hat-trick since the inception of the competition.
