'The Kenyans are not special' - Arthur declares

Ishmael Arthur Ishmael Arthur

Ishmael Arthur, one of the leading long distance runners in the country, is unperturbed about the growing interest of Kenyans in the 2019 Kwahu Easter Mountain Marathon (KEMM) and has vowed to beat them again in the competition.

The KEMM has so far attracted ten Kenyans, who have registered for the competition, and have become a psychological threat to many long-distance runners and participants in the competition.

Arthur, who was second in the 2018 edition of the Kwahu Marathon and winner of the Millennium Marathon, said, he was never worried about the Kenyans adding that, he defeated them to win the millennium marathon last year.

“I don’t understand why everybody is talking about the Kenyans. They participated in the Millennium Marathon last year, but I won that race.
“What matters most is for me is to train well and be in a good form to win the Kwahu Marathon,” he added.

According to Arthur, he is keen on winning this time having missed the trophy narrowly last year to Mathew Natiere.

Arthur, also participated in the Dubai Marathon last year and is looking forward to compete again in the Kwahu Marathon.
