The pregnant woman who was jailed two years for injuring a rival but later rescued through the benevolence of Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament, Prof Mike Aaron Oquaye has given birth to a bouncy baby boy, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.

Akosua Sarfowaa a mother of one at the time prior to her incarceration was 6-month pregnant after being charged with assault for hitting her husband’s girlfriend.

She was later jailed two-years in prison following her inability to raise fine GH¢3400 slapped on her by the circuit court in Suhum which found her guilty of the offence despite her condition.

Through the Crime Check Foundation, news on Akosua’s reached the attention of the Speaker of Parliament who is also a Pastor and he decided to pay the fine and get the vulnerable young expectant mother released.

Few months down the line, Akosua Sarfowaa has delivered of a bouncy baby boy according to Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng who is the Chief Executive Officer
As part of their contributions towards her upkeep, he revealed that the organization with the support of some spirited individuals donated items worth four thousand cedis and an amount of three thousand five hundred Ghana cedis being donations from eight individuals.

He shared on his Facebook “Akosua Sarfowaa is here to inform me of her decision to name her baby boy after me after Crime Check Foundation saved her from giving birth to this innocent boy in Prison. We can only give glory to God. She did not leave our office empty handed. She took away items worth four thousand cedis and an amount of three thousand five hundred Ghana cedis being donations from eight individuals. We pray for God’s strength and guidance to enable us deliver many other pregnant women from jail. To all those who donated, may the Almighty Allah reward you adequately”
