United Arab Emirates celebrates 47th Union Day

The United Arab Emirates has marked its 47th Union day in Accra. The day which according to the UAE ambassador to Ghana, Mr. Khalifa Alzaabi falls on 2nd December reminds them to stride forward with wisdom and perseverance

“The UAE’s 47th National Day coincides with the centenary of the birth of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE “he said

According to him, the UAE is actively in the fight against extremism and terrorism and a key element in the country’s determined efforts to ensure its national security and enhanced international security.

“The UAE has participated in Islamic and International alliances through the enactment of locals laws to fight against terrorism and its causes” he noted

He said, the UAE’s achievement at the local levels were not limited to the economic sector, according to him, the UAE adopted an active approach to diplomacy with a marked openness to the outside world, establishing an extensive network of relations with various countries around the world.

“One of the most salient indicators of the success of UAE diplomacy is the strength of the UAE passport which has achieved third rank in the world according to the World Passport Index” he said

The ambassador said the UAE in all its achievements has taken the lead in efforts to combat poverty and provide foreign assistance to the needy including the most vulnerable



“I would like to commend the bilateral relations between our two friendly countries, these ties are based on the principles of cooperation and mutual respect and have reached the level of strategic partnership between the two countries and people in recent years” he said.

Khalifa Alzaabi was speaking at the 47th UAE Union Day celebration in Accra.
