Officers of the Ghana Police service and the Ghana fire service have begun thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of fire outbreak at the Ashanti Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service.

The fire which raged the office of the Regional Director and her secretary yesterday destroyed a lot of items including office files, office equipment and office furniture.

Addressing the media this morning, ACP Kwaku Buah who is the divisional commander for Manhyia assured that the police are leaving no stone unturned and will do everything to ascertain the cause of the inferno.

"We have already start investigation into the unfortunate incident, what I can say is nothing has been found now, as you already witnessed the items, files, documents and other materials that are already lost. For now we can't say anything about our investigation" He said.

Rashid Nisawu, divisional officer grade 2 of the fire services also stated that things could have been worse if not for the intervention of the fire service.

"We had a call around 8pm and we quickly rushed here, things could have been different if not for our intervention. We came in and confided the fire"

The fire officer also revealed that they have also began investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire.

"We have started investigation into the matter, for now we can't reveal where we have reached. We can't say if it as results of carelessness or negligence. We can only confirm that after our investigations"

When asked how many days the investigation will take, Mr. Rashid stated

"We can't give a time limit, but it will be quick and fact finding"
