NPP members hate me because I speak the truth - Kennedy Agyapong

Financier of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agyapong has revealed that members of his own party despise him because of his resolve to speak the truth irrespective of who is involved and at all times.

He disclosed that over the period, he appears to have incurred the wrath of NPP members more than the NDC though he is on record to have openly criticized both parties and elements within for unpopular decisions taken which are in variance with the truth.

Speaking on Adom TV on Tuesday, he disclosed that he has over time made more enemies in the NPP than the NDC resulting in some members of the elephant family scheming to bring down his business empire.

This is however not the first time the outspoken Assin Central lawmaker has raised concerns about how some top brass of the NPP want his business crumbled because of his fierce criticisms.

In July last year, he alleged that some NPP bigwigs were scheming to bring him down with planned meetings at Alisa Hotel in Accra, indicating will not sit down while persons who did little to improve the fortunes of the party bring the current administration under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo down.

“God has blessed me and they will all be disgraced. Whatever they are doing will fall flat because I am fighting a just course. Na true I go talk”, he explained.

“I will correct all wrongs in NPP because should NDC come into power now, they will either kill me, collapse my business or find a flimsy charge against me to be jailed”, he alleged.

He, however, repeated the same statement on Tuesday saying he will continue to chart the path of truth no matter the level of machinations against his person or business

“I always stand for the truth but I sometimes expect ordinary people to also criticize the government if we are going wayward because I believe that will put the government on its toes. I can tell you that I have made more enemies in the NPP than the NDC because I know some of them hate me for speaking the truth” he said.

The maverick politicians vowed to squarely face any individual who tries to reap where he or she had not sown describing such persons as greedy elements in the NPP.
