Swansea City are prepared to make another offer for Andre Ayew after seeing an initial bid rebuffed by West Ham, as manager Carlos Carvalhal prepares for their January transfer efforts to go down to the wire.
The Swans continue to work to bring in forward reinforcements for new boss Carvalhal, who has closed the gap to safety to three points following the stunning victory over Liverpool on Monday night.

Moves for Atletico Madrid’s Nicolas Gaitan and West Ham forward Ayew remain in the offing as discussions continue ahead of Wednesday’s transfer deadline.

Hammers boss David Moyes confirmed on Thursday that the London club had turned down an offer for the Ghanaian international, and it is understood that came in the form of a £14million bid from the Swans.

But the deal is not thought to be dead, with Ayew indicating he would be ready to return to the Liberty, where he would link up with brother Jordan.

However, West Ham are likely to want to recoup as much as possible of the £20million they paid to land the 28-year-old from the Welsh club in August of 2016.

Andre scored 12 Premier League goals in his sole season at the Liberty, helping the Swans retain their top-flight status having arrived on a free transfer.
