NDC Deputy Communications Director, Fred Agbenyo has called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to sanction the Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), ACP Mr. K.K. Amoah (rtd).

Fred Agbenyo, speaking to sit-in host Nana Yaw Kesseh on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', wondered why the EOCO Boss is still at post after deploying armed Police personnel to storm the office of EC Deputy Commissioner Georgina Opoku Amankwah.

The EOCO on Monday afternoon, January 15, 2018 barged into Mrs. Opoku Amankwah's office demanding her exit with immediate effect.

Mrs. Opoku Amankwah refused to be driven out from her office despite the presence of the EOCO Boss with joint action from about five armed Police officers at her office.

She couldn't fathom why she alone was being forced out when all the Commissioners under investigation have been coming to work.

She disclosed she's been in the house for several months and written to the EOCO several times demanding feedback but to no avail, thereby triggering her decision to also come to settle in her office.

Fred Agbenyo lambasted the EOCO Boss asking why he would take armed Police officers to hassle the EC Deputy Commissioner.

According to him, the EOCO has no authority to sack the EC Deputy Commissioner and so, their action yesterday was very appalling and condemnable.

“What investigation were they doing? Is it a murder case that we’re searching for where the person’s blood is? What investigation at all was the EOCO doing for you to go her office with about five armed Police personnel? Is the woman an armed robber? Is she a hardened armed robber wielding guns for to go to her office with armed Policemen?” he questioned.

To him, "it's complete disgrace on the EOCO Boss. In any civilized society, he would have been sacked by now. It’s not right. This rambo style attitude, people must stop it”.

Also touching on the issue, the aspiring National Chairman for the Progressive People's Party (PPP) Nana Ofori Owusu commended the EC Deputy Commissioner for her bravery to have not succumbed to the pressure from the EOCO.

He reinforced his conviction that all the EC Commissioners should be laid off to ensure peace and harmony at the Electoral Commission.
