Ghanaians governed by abusive leaders – Anyidoho

Koku Anyidoho Koku Anyidoho

Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho says the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) do not have the temperament to govern the country.

Anyidoho contended the Akufo-Addo-led administration hardly takes criticism from the opposition without replying with insults.

Commenting on the fall out from the banter between former President Mahama and the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM Tuesday, the Deputy General Secretary said he’s not surprised the Akufo-Addo regime is always upset by strong opinion on an issue.

His comments comes in the wake of the Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s response to former President John Mahama in connection with the $2.5 million national digital addressing system which the latter described as “419”.

In his response, Dr Bawumia described Mr Mahama as “clueless” and “ignorant”, adding that the former president exposed his hollow knowledge about the project he criticised.

But Anyidoho said the response by the Vice President is much of the vituperative attack that marked the election campaign.

“This government has shown to be a government of insults. If you criticize them, then they insult you. Ahomka Lindsay did same when he chided the Diaspora community with his whining spat- That is the kind of government that they are running today, a government of insults.

“Is it not surprising that a whole Vice President, when you’re criticized then you insult your critics? Is the government re-introducing the culture of silence, so that we can all become robots and just obey whatever they say and do? Today, drivers are set to go on demonstration, School children are sitting on cement blocks to study, the unprecedented Petrol hikes, Ghanaians can’t pay their rents among others. And these are the things that Bawumia should be talking about and stop insulting.”
