Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister Elizabeth Agyemang has assured poultry farmers in the Ashanti Region that government will put measures in place to revive and make the industry competitive and lucrative for local farmers.

According to her, government will review laws on importation of poultry products, which has resulted in the creation of 40% market for local poultry farmers in the country.

Madam Elizabeth Agyemang added that government reviving local poultry industry will help reduce high unemployment rate in the country.

She appealed to government to support poultry farmers financially to help them expand their poultry farms.

“Nana Addo’s government will not take poultry farmers for granted. Government will create an enabling environment for the private sector especially poultry farmers in order to create employment for the youth. I’m appealing to government to support poultry farmers especially those in Ashanti Region,” she said.
