Two months to form one free . SHS and the minister of ed.ucation to think of a road map that compels elite schools to reserve some space for BECE graduates. This clearly a statement in desperation. How? For all this time what were you doing? Just a populist initiative though good the constitutional provision that it should be gradual is the best. Now schools are to reduce intake because of 'accommodation space' meanwhile it is an order from above. The heads have to save their skin.

I think it is a good idea but looking at the situation in Ghana I think the best way is to provide it for the poor and the deprived. If someone is doing well and can afford to take care of the children why should the government foot his bills. There are so many areas that also need attention. There are school under trees. No public toilets bad roads . No hospital in some communities etc.

Elite schools are cutting down admissions due to limited funding.
This will worsen as they now have no funding from school fees.

Why are the continuing students being left out of the programme? Is it because they are not Ghanaian children or their parents don't pay tax? This country is not safe. Nana should go back to the drawing board and re-evaluate what he meant free SHS. Disaster is looming over our heads. One can imagine what parents of continuing students will do when their wards are left out of this programme. We should not forget that the continuing students are more than the first year ones. May God help us.
