Exploring the environment here doesn't mean he was an explorer like a white man carrying a backpack, neither does he imply that he was at the time of his murder on some sight seeing. He said he was on 'relieving duties'. Though I don't understand what that means in military terms, it could mean (by the term relieve), that he was on another less egaging assignment unlike his usual military assignments. And by saying he was still exploring the environment he meant he was still taking his time to meet all the authorities there that needed to be put to notice of his presence in the area.

Clearly their assertions do not seem to add up or make enough sense. There is more to the whole 'saga' and Captain Mahama had been a very unfortunate victim. CDE must come out with a full statement about the specific reasons for his deployment, how many men was he commanding, how far was his base from where he was lynched? Those scanty realeases tend to suggest that the CDE is still trying to concort a story that would seem pleasing to Ghanaians.
Someoen must also come out and confirm those rumous about rampant armed robberies that the people had been subjected to in the immediate past! We even hear that one of such robberies had occured just the day before, and that was the more reason the women Captain Mahama asked directions from became suspicious and raised the alarm.
Everything being equal, the captain's one major mistake was his failure to have tagged along one of his men on this familiarisation jogging. Others must learn their lesson!

That sure doesn't look like it was the prevention of galamsey but rather the protection of galamsey. Corrupt military elements were co-opted to protect illegal galamsey by corrupt politicians and their foreign partners to aid in the plunder and destruction of our environment and water bodies by sending innocent soldiers to their death, whilst shifting the blame to make it look it some foreigners just entered the country and started with the crap.

The death of this "sacrificial lamb" in the fight against galamsey has opened up more cans of worms in my opinion.
When the sector minister for lands Mr. Amewu himself had gone to arrest the Russian/Ukrainian crew way after the ban and realized they're being protected by the military, the military shifted blames to the former Minister of Defense and he in turn had refused any knowledge and that was the end. NO FOLLOW UP ! , and Ghana as we knew it as a banana republic went on as usual of " I don't care ism" of taking every citizen in the country as a fool who do not need to know shit until now. And still, their stupidity continues to take us all for a fool.
Well, they believed if we can sit down for fake pastors to feed us with their cool aid and Fanta, then shit, we can believe anything, and for that, they might be right to a point of fooling us just as the Otabils, the Obinims, the Duncan Williamses and other bishops are doing to us and smiling all the way to the bank.
