Without cross-examination of the witnesses, the truth can never be established, which is exactly what happened here. Also, where is the CCTV evidence? What was the standard of legal proof that was applied here?Where in the committee's establishing remit was the issue of sanctions? There are more questions that I have, but let me leave it at the above ones. This was a cover-up of the most eggregious kind. This is the same kind of behaviour that gave the impetus to the Acheampong coup. As Kutu told Busia after that coup, the hired driver of the vehicle is certainly not the owner.

Cameron Duodu goofed big time on this issue. His analysis is flawed and incongruous with his own suppositions. To say there are instances of corrupt dealings in Ghana's Parliament and then turn around to pooh pooh this allegation on the most partisan findings of Joe Ghartey Committee is a contradiction of Mr. Duodu's thought process.

Any wise person dealing with Ayariga's allegation first inclination would be; is there a past history of corruption in Ghana's Parliament? If the answer is yes then there is high probability that Ayariga's allegation is true. If you start from this premise and factor in the partisan nature of our politics, especially where the allegation is tilted against the majority party in the house and the same party is charged to establish the veracity of the allegation, then it shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the outcome of the investigation.

It is common sense no matter how you slice it; because under no circumstances will the Ghartey Committe throw Boakye Agyarko and Joe Osei Owusu under the bus suppose the allegation was true. The Parliamentary committee was flawed from the word go.

I am very disappointed in Mr. Duodu!!!

Parliament is noble institution which does serious business and sets high standards for other institutions in the country to follow. It is utter shame that some irresponsible and incorrigible members like dishounourable Ayariga should drag the name of parliament in the mud. There is a saying that Caesar's wife should be above board. Those who claim to lead should lead with utmost integrity and responsibility by eschewing ignominous behaviour. Ayariga cannot be called Honourable any more. I recommend to all the Ghanaian parliamentarians to google and read Roberts' rules of Meetings written by an American army Colonel about 130 years ago.

It is one thing to say that he's a nasty and rascally MP who has no honour because he makes unfounded allegations against fellow MPs.

But if you specifically say that he has chopped 10 million on a contract and is therefore a "professional thief", the you must be ready to prove it. Otherwise, you are just
as guilty as Ayariga, but which I am sure you are not. If you have any evidence, then, please bring it! Pronto!
