Back to the old system:it's good but cost more considering the population growth..it was good in the great old day when our population was small and also..education system is becoming compact because of technological aspect of it.And we don't have good methodology in our school system,we still use old way of thinking but there are more conventional thinking of methodological way of teaching which Ghana lack.We need to do more to improve our education system.for example:kids of grade 8 in Canada can assign a project of his father home country ,starting by drawing Ghana map, emplaned every region what they grown, calibre of people ,food they eat ,their religion and culture though sketch of symbols represent each one of the idea he has put in on the map and that is Call Geography

In her statement Prof Naana Opoku Agyeman claimed that the A Level is of high standard. By implication, what she is saying is that the SHS system is of low standard. My question is that how do we continue wasting our energies and time on a system that is of low quality. Imagine two people, A nad B, acquiring phones of China and German made respectively. No matter how many times A will be working on their China phone, nothing will make it superior to B's German phone. Look, we can not be experimenting with the future of our youth. Let it be known to this useless Professor that before scraping the old system, the only excuse they gave us was not on the quality but its inability to equip the youth with employable skills. They brought the new system with workshops and tools hoping that that will industrialize Ghana. Today, the tools and workshops are no where to be found and the technical components have been removed from the syllabus and so we cannot continue with that system since the main ingredients have been lost.

Ghana is not an island and we need to integrate with the rest of the world. Our current JSS and SSS lack quality staff, quality metrics and quality instructional materials. The curriculum is overburdened with many subjects and students are expected to write stock answers or parrot answers. Where is critical thinking or computational thinking? Our current system is unsustainable so let us scrap it or give many alternatives by running multiple routes such as SSS, O& A Levels, and IB (International Baccaulaureate) to keep abreast with world standards and also enjoy economies of scale by relying on some well established systems such as Cambridge Exams and books produced cheaply outside. We need educational reform urgently or else our future is doomed.

Mr. writer i beg to differ a bit for saying that it will be a waste to go back to the old system.but whatever the situation may be, the fact still remains that the products of the two systems, quality and the in-depth knowledge attained after going through the old systems can not be compared at all.products of the former is phenomenal and outstanding.its therefore stands to reason that the old systems is still the best and to go will be a wise decision but at least 5 years will do.
