I am not at all surprised by the KNUST (aka TechSec) SHS students winning this debate, being as it were, from even a difficult position against conventional wisdom.

Conventional wisdom will have it that the youth are key stakeholders in National Development. But the KNUST SHS students successfully argued against that.

They would be standing on the shoulders and carrying the mantle and traditions of their parents, those of us who attended TechSec in the 1970s.

I was a strong member of the debating society back then and we used to beat so-called "A" schools like Prempeh College and Opoku Ware Secondary school in debates.
