Please come home and live the country for those bastard that have nothing doing rather than victimise their fellow blacks who helped them during the apartheid when they were being slaughtered like animals.

The leadership of the country keeps pussyfooting around the topic of Xenophobia. During the previous attacks Jacob Zuma said South Africans were not Xenophobic and that if they were, how would it be possible for many foreign nationals to live peacefully in the country. He blamed the attacks on criminal elements, who took advantage of the situation to commit their crimes in the name of xenophobia. The problem was never addressed at it's core. I stand to be corrected, but not a single person is in jail for those heinous crimes against humanity.
During Friday's protest march, he said the march was not about about xenophobia, but an indication that the people were fed up with crime. This statement is unacceptable and flawed on many levels.
Firstly, there is an implication here that foreigners are the ones responsible for the crime situation in the country, hence a march against foreigners being called a march against crime.
Secondly, he blamed the 2015 attacks on criminal element......Is it the same criminal element that is now fed up with the crime situation in the country? Makes no sense at all.
Interestingly and rather sadly, it is only the black African that is regarded as a foreigner in SA. There are many other nationals (not black/African) engaged in high level criminal activity, but somehow this doesn't seem to matter.
In such situations, Nigeria seems to be the only country that takes action. It is time the entire continent came together and held the leadership of this country to account. A strong signal should be sent that such acts will not be tolerated in the future, bearing in mind that SA has many interests across the continent. SA CANNOT thrive without the rest of Africa.
Many South Africans are good and welcoming people, but it remains a fact that there are some who hate other African nationals based on irrational fear or misunderstanding. The leadership has failed dismally in dealing with the latter, who by the way are in the minority.
African countries sacrificed a lot to fight alongside SA during the liberation struggle. Pity how some people seem to have forgotten that fact barely 20 years later. Nelson Mandela must be so disappointed looking at the state of affairs in that country.
