Several opinion polls since the beginning of 2016 including those by the respected Economist Intelligence Unit and University of Ghana indicated that the NDC will lose because of the economic difficulties. It's was after this trend was established the strange unheard of before polls started appearing. No one took them seriously apart from NDC which was sponsoring those polls. Ben Epson the only known pollster has admitted that he got it all wrong and he is not God. So when you write an article and begin with the total falsehood that several opinion polls gave NDC the lead you are writing history.

It was their Campaign Spokesperson Mrs Mortgari who came out first to tell the whole world that NDC supporters should not worry and that the President JDM is in a comfortable lead. Two. This forced Peter Mac-Manu of NPP to come out with the Press Conference atbabout 0130 hrs to announce that the nation should not mind NDC because from about 80% of their collated results NPP is leading by 54% (not 64%). Three. It was Koku Anyidoho who then came out at 0300 hrs in their press conference to change the figure of Mac-Manu from 54% to 64%. Now NDC people are putting falsehood into the ears of the general public on who came out first and the percentage won. If NDC party members do not change their way of lies and arrogance, they will never win an election in Ghana again. Ghanaians are no longer fools as they think.

Right from the onset, anybody who was political culled in about the state of Ghana under John Mahama knew, he was going to lose and lose rather very, very heavily up and down the ballot. It was not even going to be close. It was going to be a shellacking of grand proportions, massive heavy huge humongous defeat. It was staring John Mahama and the NDC party in the face soooooo strongly one did not need a soothsayer or an oracle to confirm the dangerously corrupt and spectacularly incompetent and clueless NDC gov't was out.
This triggered all manner of strategic rigging interventions of which all failed.
Notable amongst them was the attempt to prevent access to the pink sheets by political party agents by the EC, which was contested in court and defeated.
And with that action effectively truncated, system failure was all but assured. This was aside of the very, very serious problems in the NDC party and the socio-politico-economic and development catastrophic and disastrous problems that had been unleashed on Ghanaians during the last 8 years of the Mahama NDC gov't.
The coalescing of all these factors rendered any form of any win by Mahama and the NDC party moot.
The NDC was just left waiting for the hefty slap at the ballot box which they were sooooo primed to receive, land with the force of a hurricane, and landing it did land, excruciatingly on December 7th, and Mahama and NDC is still reeling from the force of that huge fantastic slap.
That is the bitter lesson Ghanaians promised to teach Mahama and the NDC party. Hopefully, they will learn the bitter lesson nobody was teaching them at that Adabraka HQ's of which nobody knows the source of funding.

Many reasons but the ones I'd like to list here are:
1. The arrogance exhibited by young men put in positions of responsibility e.g. Kwakye Ofosu, deputy minister communications when they appear in public to answer to criticisms
2. Too much borrowing by govt, tantamount to cedis depreciation
3. Govt contracts appeared over-priced and value for money was minimal
4. Policy appear incoherent and not well thought out
5. Goats appearance to be defending corrupt officials by putting them in the Presidency
6. Contractual terms of govt agreements appeared devoid of common sense or pure incompetence, wondering who. Was looking out for dear Ghana
7. Personal attacks on critics instead of defending go talk reasons for certain policies

The country was taken back about30 years to the late 70's and 80's. No accountability in the face of so much opportunities and willingness on the part of Ghanaians to improve their lives. Mahama had all the resources and support and peace to take Ghana to the next level but just slept his way through his term. Even mouth drooling people like this Afia Rambo and bukum banku could even get up to speak. Its Mahama who created obinim and all these prophets, because faith is all the Ghana people had.

The NDC lost because of arrogance, corruption and lies in the face of the economic hardships people were suffering due to its policies and preferences. It was on a profligate spending store whilst essential services were collapsing, whilst salary disputes were raging, whilst teachers and nurses allowances had been scrapped. Whilst feeding allowances of students, the psychiatric hospital was broke and closing. Every thing around was closing but the watch on and rudely told the people to appreciate infrastructure in a jobless economy. They had completely forgotten that it is people who vote not contractors. If they were confident that they were winning why did they need to spend so much money sharing goodies across the country showing the electorate that they were indeed corrupt and rich in the midst of worsening economic conditions. Childishness and over reliance on electoral malpractices lost NDC the elections not how the party was out of touch with its grassroot. It was out of touch with Ghanaians concentrating rather on acquiring personal wealth just like the example set by the President and his family

What was the weight of the so called other"Founding Fathers"? To liken the NPP Presidential Candidate to a Pastor at the pulpit when he is campaigning, do you imagine the implication? Do you know the number of Pastors in the country and the number of congregants under them? Do not carry this blame because the actual bearer is there and must learn to control the tongue. It is a lesson for everyone including our current President. He is fortunate to have three former Presidents and if they have gone through some challenges already, he should be ready to consult in order to avoid their mistakes.

That failed because NPP members were faster to learn from 2008 and 2012 elections. Ghanaians are aware that NDC won the 2008/2012 election through vote rigging, that didn't work this time because NPP members were too vigilant. In addition NDC lost because of laziness in the part of its appointees who were deceiving themselves to say there was disunity in NPP therefore they can't win election. NPP was stronger and United before Dec 7 presidential and parliamentary election whilst NDC hopes rest on vote buying and vote rigging. Their only Message to electorates is insults geared against Akufo Addo to divert opinions of electorates but all failed. Now Kofi Adams has come back to his sense to admit that there is disunity in the NDC set up. The harm already done.

If it were not for this reason why should Ghanaians give your party, 44% of the tally? There were too many serious corruption cases and dirty scandals for one political party, in a whole life. You should have got between 10-15% of the votes. Blame your party and not yourself. Your party's reliance on its key strategy, manipulation of election results did not materialize this time. Those you have cheated all along, just became wiser and smarter.
