Where else could you have gotten so much money? Remember Jerry Rawlings sacked you in late 1999 because you were stealing too much.

How can you justify using public money to guarantee a bank loan made to a private firm, Valley Farms, when the company was not even dealing in oil?

The only reason was the private firm belonged to your friends, the Ahwoi brothers, and you thought you could get away with it. So, in effect, you gifted them with money which did not belong to you, belonged to the people of Ghana.

You were not mandated to do that. It was never you intention to make Valley Farms repay the money. That is called misuse of public funds, and causing economic loss to the state.
