GhOne has posted a disturbing development on an incident involving a girl who reportedly survived a near fatal head injury from a stray bullet from Ghana Police Service six months ago.

The family of the victim, 10-year-old Dorothy Appiah has alleged that, Ghana Police has failed to support them financially to treat their daughter who as a result of their [police] negligence has developed a neurological disorder which affects her balance and walking movement.

According to the father of the victim, the police has contributed only GHC600 to the treatment of Dorothy and follow-ups by GhOne to top officials in the Police and Criminal Investigation department (CID) on the matter has yielded no concrete results.

Eunice Ohene Darko, a physiotherapist who has offered to treat her at no cost has however assured the family that with further treatment, Dorothy can regain her body balance and function with ease and confident.

“I believe we can get her to a functional position where she can go back to school, like other children,” she said.

The distraught family seek justice and holistic health care for their daughter.
