Montie’s Ako Gunn led attacks against NPP – Na

November 13, 2016

My attention has been drawn to a fake Press statement, that has gone viral on most social media platforms, and same attributed to me as condemning a seeming attack at the home of the Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party by some assailants.

First, I am currently in the United Kingdom for some private engagements. I am not a witness to, neither have I been briefed about what is said to have happened at the home of the Presidential candidate of the NPP.

Secondly, whilst in the UK, I took some time off my private engagements to meet with the communication directorate of the party in London as of last week.

I am due to return to Ghana on the next available flight from Heathrow Airport. I urge all members of the New Patriotic Party to discard such falsehood and treat it with the contempt it deserves. I further want to advise members of the NPP, to as a matter of holding on to a good sense of responsibility, learn to cross check with members of the communication department to authenticate any of such informations as and when they receive them.

I thank all those who called to show concern.

Nana Akomea
(Communications Director, NPP)
