INFRASTRUCTURES ALONE CANNOT REDUCE POVERTY
If infrastructures alone can reduce poverty in developing countries Nigeria would have been heaven on earth but go and see the level of abject poverty prevailing in that oil rich country. Since the oil boom in the 70s, subsequent Nigerian governments have been investing billions of dollars into infrastructural projects building mega-schools, mega-hospitals, Mega-universities, super-highways and a new modern city called Abuja yet these mega-projects have not reduced poverty in Ogbodo Niger. Infact, it is on record that Nigeria exports the highest number of beggars to the rest of Arica.
So you see, infrastructure alone is not enough to create wealth and jobs. What can create wealth and jobs is sound policies as espoused by Nana and Bawumia.

Does it matter how much was invested into the projects? You always use the roads, bridges and enjoy the sweet breeze of the air. We should be thinking about how we are going to benefit instead of thinking about how much. Will the cost change the development taking place in the country? If u had done to the hospital and they reject you because of lack of bed, will you come out to complain and blame the government? If you children were to be in the house because a school could not enroll them, you will the same person to blame WACE or government. Now these facilities have been provided and you there thinking about cost. Ghanaians should sit up.

Infrastructure can turn around poverty. The more we have the infrastructure in the country; the intake of employees in the country increases and the salary rate also increase through that each citizen will at least pay their taxes which will be used to cater for other social needs in the country. Ghanaians should not be ignorant about it.

How do you define infrastructure? Infrastructure is a very broad topic whose definition has to be narrowed. Roads and rails and airports are all infrastructures. Electrical grids and network, banking networks, food distribution. Water distribution. The list is endless. Even computing network and education are all parts of infrastructure.
Nigeria's problems are easily surmountable if they can minimize corruption by moving away from the federal system and go with provincial system. That flattens the structure of command and boost transparency.

State and local governments in Nigeria are able to mobilize revenue to build roads, hospitals, schools, etc, unlike in Ghana where everything will have to come from the central government in Accra. Lagos State for instance was able to construct a 12-lane highway from Lagos to Seme with a two lane railway line in the middle. It will also surprise you that the Lagos State Public Works Department has many Asphalt Plants. So you see, governance is closer to Nigerians more than Ghanaians.

I saw this guy as a fine gentleman and with some grey matter in his head but it is turning out to be cotton wool. Is he now supporting the overthrowers of Nkrumah against the NDC? It is because of the stupidity in the NkrumahIst front that is why they have about 4 or 5 splinter parties and common sense is not telling them to come together. All these five have become surrogates of npp or ndc and u are not ashamed but u also mount the platform and spew rubbish. U people should be thanking the President for keeping the Nkrumah dream alive. Go to circle and see how Nkrumah has been honoured and stop the foolish talk.
