The imposter Francis Kwarteng will keep trying all possible means to be heard but his best will never be enough alone for the simple fact that he has just a very weak and bad command over the English language. His English Grammatical is completely bogus. Besides, he has absolutely no idea about whatever he writes, he has the tendacy of coping from the internet as a camouflage to blindfolding his readers. However, I personally opine very few "reasonable" readers will buy his non-sense making write ups.

I was just wondering why you singled out Kiki Gyan from the Osibisa line up? Did he make more money than the rest or was he the most talented? He was not even a founding member of the group, if I remember right... Ok, he was talented but he really wasn't the face Osibisa which had already made a name for itself before he joined.
I think this part concentrated too much on the thesis on Koo Nimo.

Dear EKS,
Oh I cane here too late.
Anyway, please check out the scholarly publications of the Ghanaian-based British musicologist and music historian, John Collins, and they will take you to some of the profoundest academic work on highlife and palm-wine music.
Again, the list is very extensive and will take some time to go through. I think it is a good place to start.
Remember, I also told I have some professors here in the United States who are familiar with scholarship on the subject but I have not contacted any of them yet.
Finally, I concentrated on Kiki Gyan because of his exceptional gifts and the sad manner in which his life and career ended...falling into wrong crowds and allowing their influence to lead him to hard drugs which eventually destroyed him.
Remember he joined Osibisa when he was in his teens, probably around 16 or so, and later leaving the group over money issues. Yet he would go on to make significant contributions to the "disco sound" during the disco era.
These are some of the few reasons why I concentrated on him. Unlike the older members of the band (Caribbean,Nigeria, Ghana), he was indeed a prodigy.
There is more to say about Kiki Gyan though.
Let me end it here.

Yes, Kiki Gyan was talented, came into the limelight at too early an age and couldn't handle all the fame and the cash. Too bad his end came too early and in too sad a manner.
I must say that some of us got too fast with the original Osibisa lineup and never really warmed up to the group that contained the non-original members. A bit unfair cos those other new members were talented too. Our attachment to the original group is just purely for sentimental reasons...
