The clergy has as much stake in this nation as the laity! Professor Martey as a Ghanaian has every legitimate right to comment on the way this nation is run! Asidu Nketia and the bunch of politicians who think no one can comment on issues bothering on the administration of this nation should sit well! If is is proper for Ghanaians, politicians or not to pay taxes, then let no politician think we are their slaves such that they can receive taxes, duties, and rates as well as tolls from us, and use it as pleases them without a word from us! Those who have the bigoted opinion that only politicians have the right to speak to national issues should pay all the taxes, rates, duties and tolls and leave us out of it! Then they may do as they please and the rest of us, non politicians will let them rule without a whimper!

Good Advice. No Ghanaian should try to gag any other Ghanaian with threats or "gifts". We are all in the same boat. If it sinks, we all perish equally.

The only with this article is that the omission that prof. Martey has been nowhere to be found when it comes to issues regarding NPP. When NPP was on fire, acid being poured on Ghanaians, so called man of God was nowhere to be found. Doesn't that Smack of hypocrisy if indeed all he cares about is the welfare of mother Ghana.
And perhaps you are forgetting that he is also being accused of accepting bribery as he claims to have rejected same. Those who live in glass houses should be careful how they throw stones

Nobody is saying you cannot criticize government, but your criticism must be constructive, objective and above partisanship. The office of the "Man of God (Rev)" must not be taken lightly. How can you scream about the same issue when side A is involved and keep mute when it's side B. This is bias, bigotry and totally unacceptable for a person in such an office. Criticize, but be fair and objective. is this too much to ask for? I don't have to be an expect to tell, Prof Martey behaves like an npp political hack!!!.

Nobody tries to gag the Prof from speaking his mind and defending it. But when he makes a damning allegation and fails to defend it, then we get pissed off. If he actually thought it was wrong when he was approached with the bribe and thought of unleashing dogs on the person/s but did not have dogs, WHY DIDN’T HE GO THE POLICE? The police are stronger than dogs in handling bribery cases in the country.
Secondly when he defends his stance by sating I talk issue not personalities and would not mention names, WHY THEN DEPUTY MINISTER AGALGA in the Peace Coucinl Chairmanship issue?
Thirdly why did he choose the Church’s anniversary to make the allegation? Too many open-ends

This is a useless article, speaking about national issues or critical of government is different from cautious efforts of painting other people black in the eyes of the public. It is sad when prominent people was only commenting on national issues but he wasn't political.I would believe him a little when he had name those politicians who went to his house to bribe him. In any case why is it that he can mention Agalga as government officials who approached him to chair the national peace council but he cant name his bribers.
