I will be worried about how to keep hold of what I already have. Agona East and West are already falling to NPP and Gomoa is following in that stead. Wishful thinking will drive you into opposition.

If Agona Swedru is the second largest commercial town in the Central Region with a current estimated (2016) population of over 75,000, why has the NDC government not made it a separate district or municipality? The NPP government under Mr. Kufour also told lies, lies and lies about making it a separate municipality Mr. Kufour was campaigning for President between 1998 to 2000. The man did practically nothing for 8 years. Kufour paid more attention to his Asante tribesmen and close cousins forgetting the simple fact that the Agona chiefs are actually closer to the Golden Stool than the other parts of the Ashanti Region outside Kumasi.
The Founder of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, made Agona Swedru, a town largely settled mainly by Fantes and some, Guans and Kwahus, a separate municipality. He allowed Agona Nyakrom, an indigenous Agona town founded by Chief Nyarko Eku, from Kwaman Nsuta in 1660 AD after Chief Nyarko Eku separated from his Oyoko clan cousin, Obiri Yeboah, the uncle of Osei Tutu, the First Asantehene, to become a separate municipality on its own with its own Member of Parliament. Further, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the real statesman of Ghana actually met all Agona Chiefs to personally settle intra-Agona conflicts in 1958 during his first year in power. The Agona Nyakrom district and MP status were abolished in 1969 when General Afrifa was in power and confirmed by Kwamina Ahwoi's 1988 decentralisation policy.
Right now, Agona Nyakrom and its satellite towns of Abodom, Bobikuma, Kwaman, Nkum, Otenkorang and other towns and villages all in the Agona West district (outside Agona Swedru) alone have a combined current population of over 85,000 more than enough to make it a separate district. In terms of area-based density of production, this area is the most active cocoa production in Ghana currently and has been so for the past 50 years. It is not a district and we have over 50 districts in Ghana created by both NDC and NPP governments from 1988 to 2012 with low populations between 25,000 to 70,000. This is the marginalisation of Agonas as an indigenous Akan group that has gone since the Founder of Ghana, Dr. Nkrumah was overthrown in 1966.
WE have the 1992 Constitution. The Constitution says that when an area reaches a population of 75,000 it can be considered for district status. Around 50 towns have never reached the 75,000 population level and have been quickly converted to district status. Other areas have reached that status and have patiently waited to reach that status before asking for district status and are neglected. And you call this a nation state and a nation building exercise.
It is like an examination. The rules say if you get 80 marks or more you get A. Some people get 80 marks or more and are given D or E. Others get 50 or 60 and are given an A. So that is what we have in Ghana.
