I said what I had to say with a clear conviction that any public utterance on a radio station like Montie FM that threatens the life of public officials doing their legitimate duties, that denigrates an arm of government, and seeks to undermine our democracy is wr4ong and must be condemned or punished as such.
Particularly in the case of the Supreme Court and the matter being handled by it, one needs no prompting to speak to the truth about our Ghanaian situation.
Those who fail to see the matter as it should be seen are lost. That is why I am concerned that the NDC followers seeing the matter only through the NDC blinkers and misbehaving all over the place are worsening their own party's standing. What is at stake needs more than they have begun doing.
Whether President Mahama will be prevailed upon---or succumb to pressure---to exercise the Presidential Pardon to release the convicts from prison is another issue. If he bows to pressure from his own party to do so, he will go down as setting a terrible precedent to his own political disadvantage. The matter may be destabilizing to the NDC (causing internal crisis because of anger among the NDC followers that the victims are NDC communicators who must be protected against what has befallen them and not abandoned); but it has to be seen from a wider angle for reason to prevail.
I am certain that if the right approach is made to cope with the situation, the NDC should emerge stronger. it all depends on how its leaders play the cards.
I am more than convinced that the Supreme Court's decisive action has already sent the message to the society: that freedom of speech doesn't entail unrestrained public rhetoric to endanger our democracy.
If this understanding sinks, all those NDC members going out of bounds should be contained. That is the responsibility of the NDC's leaders, now that they have managed to pay the fine(s) to avoid being imprisoned as well.
I stand by my opinions and will defend them anywhere, anytime. When it comes to the good of Ghana, my yeoman's job as a public intellectual requires that I lay bare what I consider to be useful for growing our democracy. And I will continue to make my voice heard, no matter the insults from those who disagree with me or even wish me dead for poking at their underbelly in Ghanaian politics. I am a Ghanaian and will do and say anything that will uplift Ghana. It is commonsensical.

Your premise is wrong. I haven't suggested in any way that I want these convicts out of prison. So, why go this way?
The President is in office to protect every fibre of the Ghanaian political dispensation. Once some have threatened others, the President has no justification to take sides. The Constitution and the laws of the land say what should be what.
The justices of the Supreme Court "tried" the contemnors and found them guilty, which they agreed with and apologized. Sentencing them was just a formality. So, why the fuss?
If the President plays the partisan political card to free them, he will be setting a bad precedent. It won't redound to his own political quests. That is the bind that he has to be mindful of.
No need for any narrow and short-sighted approach. Once the NDC has paid the fines, it means that it has accepted wrong-doing and shouldn't push the matter any further.
All those misguided NDC followers on the rampage are uninformed and should be educated and restrained. otherwise, the NDC will suffer worse circumstances and yield its position of strength to the NPP.
If President Mahama has advisors working for the interests of Ghana, he should act judiciously and not bow to the needless pressure being put on him, to pardon these seemingly insignificant NDC communicators.
The truth is that communicating for the NDC doesn't mean saying anything at all to put the party in disrepute or to pit it against the established order.
What these convicts have done is dangerous to our democracy that President Mahama should not be stampeded into supporting. He does so at his own risk!!
If those who flout the law in pursuing their narrow political interests cannot be held accountable for their misconduct, how will our democracy grow to benefit the majority of Ghanaians seeking redemption from poverty, want, and disease?
I can keep talking and talking, but I have to draw the line somewhere; and I do so now by saying that I find nothing wrong with the action taken against the Montie squad. No more.

Unless one is trying to play the mischief, every discerning person know the Supreme Court delivered a reasonable judgement. This write up is just a re-echo of what is already on the mind of reasonable Ghanaians. What worry some of us is why the NDC-Muntie-3 should find themselves in this conundrum especially as the case which appeared before the Supreme Court was b/n Abu Ramadan and Nimako on one side, and the Electoral Commission of the republic of Ghana on the other. How did the NDC become the quasi defendants in this case? What did these buffoons stand to gain in a case that they have no locus? It is very disgusting to see the clueless NDC jumping and farting anytime the incompetence of the EC becomes an issue. How do you we trust the EC if the NDC continue to play the mouth piece of the former? By the way, the 2012 petition was not useless as you stated elsewhere in this essay. The 5-4 split decision of the panel of justices proved that the petitioners had a good case. There was every indication that Afari-Gyan really did a very very bad job. Electoral rules were violated; the voters register was, and is still bloated; he could not a count for the so called foreign votes. The stupid decision by Mahama to have voting continue the next day was criminal. It allowed the plans of the EC/NDC worked. That is, it opened the avenue for people with multiple registration to vote many times. I don't know what rigging means if the above observations are relevant. It, therefore, does not make sense for anyone to claim the petition was bogus as Bokor wants readers to believe. You still need to do some work if the word 'bias' mean something positive to you.

HE WAS NOT PROSECUTED BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY, NANA AKUFO ADDO DID NOT COMMIT A CRIME, HENCE HE IS A FREE MAN. THE MONTIE TRIO MADE DIRECT SPECIFIC DEATH THREATS AGAINST SUPREME COURT JUDGES, MENTIONING THE FACT THAT, THEY KNOW THE RESIDENCES OF THE JUDGES; IMPLYING INTENT TO KILL THEM; A CRIME UNDER THE LAWS OF GHANA AND SO THEY WERE DEALT WITH BY THE SUPREME COURT, SINCE THE NDC APPOINTED ATTORNNEY REFUSED TO PROSECUTE THEM, EVEN ON THE ADVICE OF THE GHANA BAR ASSOCIATION, TO WHICH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL ALSO BELONGS. NDC are champions of impunity, violence and lawlessness indeed. There has been some apparent respite since they came to power again in 2008. They have been in power since & it appeared they were losing the tag to NPP in opposition.
Events of the last 48 hrs are revealing that the leopard spots will always be there ...... NDC dont understand the law as far as the indictments of their evil -mouthed commentators are concerned. They are swearing fire & brimstone. They are starting the 'free Mugabe' nonsense. They want to pressurise Prez John Ford Mahama to free them by executive order.
Have they heard of the 1960 film, my father says he watched at Opera.. HERCULES UNCHAINED?
Have they heard capricious exercise of Presidential power before? You are digging a hole and Mahama will fall into it clean.

Let those who come to justice come with equity. He who cuts his pound of flesh must remember that he or she also have a fresh on his body. It looks like a few weeks ago President Vladimir Putin granted amnesty to a Ukrainian military women who did not only threaten to kill journalist, but murdered two Russian journalist in Crimea and was captured, send to Moscow, tried and sentenced, but pardoned by the President of Russia. The matter is that we are all members of the United Nations and have the same set of laws.
The law permits the president of Russia to pardon a murderer but the law in Ghana we are been told does not permit the Ghanaian President to pardon a person who threatened the life of another person.
Two police officers who are also human being were murdered in the Northern Region by an armed robber who was granted bail in the fact of the fact that he threatened to kill the police officer who effected his arrest.
Mr. Michael Bokor after the armed robber was granted bail by the court he ambushed the police officer and another one and shot them, even after realizing that they were both seriously injured when he shot at their vehicle. It took the police months to apprehend the armed robber and murderer.
When the world appeal to the Russian President he pardon the Ukrainian because to the world Russian are not beings. But our humanism is an inverted one, thus we can not pardon another citizen who offended us.
Dr. Michael J.K. Bokor one of the democratic dividend that citizens and foreigners are entitled to is the right to pardon. You make it look and sound like the citizens of Ghana deserve only punishment and not the right to be pardoned. Knowledge,is said to be a baobab tree which one person can not embrace, so let us not all pretend that we have long hand to embrace and administer justice and depriving the one who is sentenced the right to pardon.
Let me again put up another example. In Syria currently rebel who are shooting at state security forces and even killing some of them after they laid down their arms are pardoned. You see the naked bare face of the Ghanaian being wicked to himself. If it were to be a court in say Zimbabwe which sentenced people in this manner we shall all to crying that it is inhuman. If this were to have happen to a member of the opposition by now their leaders would have been in the west calling on the head of states and prime ministers there to intervene and describe the sentence in the most inhuman form.
Puskin in one of his poems wrote that he does not fear injury not caste pearl at swine. I served in the civil service before and I am an administrator with workers insulting and doing other acts that need to be punished.
The case with us administrators is that you can not punish a person who injure you and look at him in the face another time. So we turned ourselves into ducks that does not get wet when water is poured on us.
