We can only minimise it's effects by controlling waste disposal and building along waterways.

Tell the people the truth , kleptomaniac pepeni Ibrahim Mahama ,Brazilians Zoolion and the ministry of Local govt headed by pepeni kwasiapayin Collins Dauda are responsible as they claim to have dredged the rivers but are all lying . Zoomlion only needs the sludge to enrich his fertilizer , the Brasilians are incompetent fly by night engineers who did organize proper drainage , Collins only want to chop money so if he isnt bribed in advance nothing will happen ,and Ibrahim Mahama just used the equipment for his private businesses even though last year they all caused the deaths of thousands

Why is it that we have ELECTED and APPOINTED leaders for the PURPOSE of finding solutions to our problems, but certain problems like this flooding occur almost every year, yet all that the leaders do is paying lip service and putting out rhetoric instead of solving the problem? So what do you think we elect LEADERS to do? Acquire wealth, drink and wine at our expense?

If you think Rev Minister Opuni is wrong taking on the leaders on the FLOODING menace, then you're twisted in your thinking. If somebody built a house in a drainage path or a wrong location, don't you think that behaviour is also a leadership flaw? How did that person get the BUILDING PERMIT to begin with?

Whiles flooding does occur in other countries, steps are always taken after to correct defects. In Ghana, nothing has been done from year to year with the same areas getting flooding all the time and yet the minister is to tour flooded areas. Nkwaseasem kwa.

No state of head announces a comprehensive plan to make flooding a thing of the past.
No public servant grants lengthy radio or TV interviews...
What happens there is that technocrats get to work...not politicians.
Logistics are made available ...not promises.
Laws relating to town planning are enforced and officials' are punished for their indiscretion...not noise making on air.
So in the good places, the same place or area will not remain a flood friendly territory over the years. That is the difference.
