PFAG launches retired footballers fund and insurance scheme

A retired footballers fund and insurance scheme for active players have been launched by the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana.

The ceremony took place at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Monday night.

According to the General Secretary of the PFAG Tony Baffoe, the policy will cover 30 players in each of the 16 Ghana Premier League Clubs

This initiative is to ensure that players in the domestic top-flight get the needed indemnity to enjoy the game.

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and his teammates who are in town to prepare for Thursday’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique.

Ex-Ghana internationals Augustine Arhinful, Samuel Osei Kuffour and Yaw Preko were also present.

Some Ghana Premier League players also graced the occasion.
