NAGRAT to strike Thursday

Graduate teachers have served notice of a strike on Thursday as they agitate over unpaid allowances.

They argue that government has consistently demonstrated bad faith in addressing their grievances.

The National Association of Graduate Teachers and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers postponed a planned strike to enable government to deal with some administrative challenges.

But the teachers say government does not seem to be serious about their concerns.

Speaking to Starr News, Communications Director for the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ayiquaye Awule said they are tired of the promise and fail from the government.

“Government will always renege on its promises but this time round, we have decided that we are not going to listen to anybody.

“We have realised that the stands is the same; they said they were waiting for the finance minister, who had traveled, now he has returned and nothing has changed,” he stated.
